Raffle giveaways by local vendors! Signature cocktails! HOW IT WORKS: During the first hour of the swap, volunteers will set up the clothing in designated area while you enjoy signature cocktails. Then, once everything is set up, feel free to roam about and try on whatever you'd like. There will be changing areas. We ask that you PLEASE put items back where you found them if you do not want to keep them. RULES: 1. Acceptable items to bring include gently used clothing, shoes, accessories (jewelry, scarves, gloves, handbags, hats). No undergarments, sports equipment, perfume samples, etc. 2. Only bring items you are absolutely certain SOMEONE will want. Bring it because you want to see it on someone's body, not in a donation bin. If you know it's awful, do not swap it! 3. You need not bring any clothing to take clothing. 4. The Swap Team has the right to deny presentation of any item we see as unfit for the event. We promise we will use the utmost discretion when doing so. No, this is not about your taste, it's about bringing something that is falling apart, dirty, etc. Not cool. 5. Try to keep the items as in-season as possible. Please try to bring only spring and summer items. 6. Please bring ALL garments on hangers!

Program: 'How Ohio Counties Got Their Names and Shapes' Presenter: Mr. Mike Buettner Sponsor: Allen County Historical Society Although Ohio became a state in 1803, it would be several more years before all of its 88 counties were surveyed and defined. The state contains 44,825 square miles and various factors were considered in creating the political subdivisions we call counties. In some cases, the shapes and sizes of Ohio's counties changed with events or acts of the legislature. Originally, in 1820, Allen County was larger than it is today. The Allen County Historical Society is pleased to present Mr. Mike Buettner who will offer a presentation on how Ohio's counties got their shapes and names. The talk will include fun trivia and otherwise interesting facts about county names. Mr. Buettner will pay special attention to Allen County and how it developed into the shape it is today. Inspired by the History Channel's program, "How the States Got Their Shapes," Mr. Buettner will share slides of the evolution of the Northwest Territory into the political divisions we know today. Mike Buettner is an amateur historian and professional surveyor who has been with the local engineering firm of Kohli & Kaliher Associates, Inc., since his graduation from Purdue University in 1978. Mike was born and raised in Lima, and is also a graduate of Shawnee High School. This is the third program that Mike has prepared for a Sunday presentation at the Allen County Museum. His previous programs have been on the subject of the Lincoln Highway in Ohio, and on the first maps and roads of Allen County. Much of his research on the Lincoln Highway can be found on-line and also in a 1995 issue of The Allen County Reporter. Mike and his wife Tammy will be observing their 25th wedding anniversary later this year, and have two children. This program is free and open to the public and will be held in the Folsom Auditorium of the Allen County Museum.
