Two New High Quality Affordable Housing Projects Coming to Toledo

Today the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) released their project allocation selections and two projects in Toledo, Collingwood Green III and Valley Bridge, will receive tax credit reservations that will enable these projects to move forward.

Last year the City of Toledo made a concerted effort in its support of requests to OHFA on behalf of the project developers to build new high quality, affordable housing in our community. These projects will also create construction jobs and support other jobs in our area.

Project Highlights:

Collingwood Green III
Developer – LMHA
Number of Units – 55
Type of Construction – New
Target Population – Low to very low income households

Summary – This is the third phase of LMHA’s redevelopment.  Phase II was recently completed.  This project continues the transformation of the Nebraska/Collingwood neighborhood and sits adjacent to the Samuel Jones at Gunckel Park Middle School and the Cordelia Martin Health Clinic.

Valley Bridge
Developer – Friendship New Vision and National Church Residences
Number of Units – 70
Type of Construction – New
Target Population – Senior

Summary – The project will serve senior residents 62+ with low incomes.  There will be 60 one bedroom units, and 10 two bedroom units.  This development in the Reynolds Corner area supports the concept to decentralize affordable housing.  National Church Residences is a significant partner in this development and brings 50+ years of development experience to the project.
