The City of Toledo and its partners are working to prevent needless gun tragedies by providing a series of educational programs and community conversations about Gun Safety with citizens of all ages. Free gun locks are available at events and no registration is needed.

The first educational programs will take place on Tuesday, January 31st at the East Toledo Family Center from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at 1020 Varland. The next Gun Safety Program is Tuesday, February 21st from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at the Believe Center at 1 Aurora L Gonzalez Drive. Gun safety information will be presented in appropriate formats for children in different age groups as well as adults.

Toledoans United for Social Action (TUSA) will also host four community meetings in conjunction with the Gun Safety initiative. TUSA will use its “House Meeting” process to listen to the public, gather data on this topic and develop a response.
