Fishing Rodeo at Sleepy Hollow Park Saturday

This coming Saturday, July 16, children ages 5 to 15 are invited to a Fishing Rodeo at Sleepy Hollow Park, located at the corner of Dorr & Richards Road. The event will run from 9 am to 11 am. The City of Toledo has stocked the pond with many sizes of fish.

Prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish and the most fish caught for different age groups.

NOTES:

  • This is a Bring Your Own Bait & Fishing Rod event.
  • Although the fish wouldn’t mind, this event could be canceled without advance notice because of weather conditions. (But the weather report looks good so far (fingers crossed!)

The first City of Toledo Fishing Rodeo was held in the 1930’s at Walden Pond in Ottawa Park. The Division of Parks, Recreation and Forestry moved the Fishing Rodeo to Sleepy Hollow Park in the 1990’s. The Fishing Rodeo is organized by The Division of Parks, Recreation & Forestry and supported by local companies and community groups, such as The Andersons.
