Council Member At-Large
Councilwoman Dr. Michele Grim is a public health expert and educator who helps communities strengthen access to medical care and respond effectively to public health emergencies. Councilwoman Grim grew up in Ashland, Ohio and moved to Toledo to attend the University of Toledo in 2001. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Public Health from UT. She went to work for academic, non-profit, and governmental institutions serving vulnerable and underserved populations in Toledo, Oakland, CA, and Chicago, IL. Councilwoman Grim earned her doctorate in Law and Policy from Northeastern University in 2020. She lives in the Lincolnshire neighborhood of West Toledo with her husband, Ben, and their dog, Max.
Councilwoman Grim is the Chair of the Health Promotion & Access Committee, and serves as a member of the Neighborhoods, & Community Development Committee, the Public Safety & Criminal Justice Reform Committee, and the Streets, Public Service & Utilities Committee.Email me
