Balance Grille Renames Build-a-Bowl, “The Wade”

TOLEDO, OH – When Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz visits Balance Grille in Downtown Toledo, his go-to meal is the Four-Star Bowl, Balance’s take on General Tso’s. He enjoys it so much that the mayor’s office and Balance are pleased to announce the temporary renaming of this popular Build-a-Bowl to “The Wade.”

Customers at the Downtown Toledo Balance location can order The Wade beginning Monday, December 10 directly in the store or through the Balance App. The Wade is completely customizable, with the customer’s choice of protein and starch. It is typically served with fresh broccoli, carrots, and sprouts, and comes with a side of Balance’s tangy, garlicky General Tso’s sauce. The Wade will be officially on the Balance menu for one year.

“The best thing about ‘The Wade’ is that I’ll never have a hard time remembering what it’s called the next time I order it!” Mayor Kapszukiewicz said. “More seriously, though, it is a healthy option that tastes great and supports a local business. It’s a win-win.”

The collaboration came to fruition after the city of Toledo posted about the Mayor enjoying his Four-Star Bowl on social media. Balance owners Prakash Karamachandani and HoChan Jang were delighted to see the Mayor’s enthusiasm for the product. “We’re excited to have the Mayor’s stamp of approval on our Four-Star Build-a-Bowl,” said Karamchandani. “It means a lot to us that our Toledo-based restaurant is supported by a local leader,” added Jang.
