Boards and Commissions now posted online

Mayor Paula Hicks-Hudson is pleased to announce that the Mayoral appointments for open seats on volunteer Boards and Commissions is now being posted on the City’s website.

“True democracy requires citizen participation. I have made it a priority to create an open process for citizens to apply for mayoral appointments and various seats on our boards and commissions. My goals are to recruit a wide variety of applicants from diverse backgrounds and increase broad participation. With over 100 boards, commissions, and committees, we have a great opportunity to work together to successfully prepare for our city’s future. As a valued community member, I need your help to spread the word,” said Mayor Hicks-Hudson.

A number of Boards and Commissions, a reference guide with updated rosters and seat designations, and a new application form are now posted on the Boards and Commissions section of the city website.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and kept on file for no less than six months. Recommendations for appointment will be made no later than a month before the current term expiration.
