The City of Toledo is submitting a grant application to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) for a $1 million Brownfield Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund grant. If awarded, this grant will allow the City to issue low-interest loans and subgrants for local brownfield remediation activities. The application is due December 18 and awards will likely be announced in May 2016. The City has received 20 U.S. EPA brownfield grants worth $7.24 million since 1997, including three previous Revolving Loan Fund grants. A draft of the application will be available for public comment and review on December 4 and comments must be submitted by December 14. To receive a copy of the draft document, or if you have any questions about Toledo’s Brownfield Program or this particular grant, please contact Marc Gerdeman, Brownfield Redevelopment Officer, Toledo Division of Environmental Services, (419) 936-3015 or Marc.Gerdeman@toledo.oh.gov.
