Business Incentive Grant (BIG) Program

The City of Toledo Department of Neighborhood and Business Development (DNBD) will provide grant funding to businesses for the strategic, geographically-focused, revitalization of commercial buildings within low-to-moderate income census tract areas (below). By bettering the appearance of the buildings, the program serves to improve the economic viability of these areas. Better aesthetics increase property values, improve the marketability of space within the buildings, and draw businesses and residents to the area. The City of Toledo uses federal funds to support the program. Federal Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) funding obligates both the city and the grant awardees to meet certain objectives, and adhere to specific funding requirements. Awarded businesses will be responsible for their grant program administration.
