We strive to include all residents in city services, employment, and business opportunities; foster safe, equitable work environments; support inclusive economic growth by strengthening local businesses; and advance systemic change throughout the community.
Priorities
Mayor’s Office of Community Services will lead a coordinated, resident-focused approach to engagement, service delivery, and neighborhood well-being. Key priorities include:
- launching a citywide Community Engagement Framework;
- enhancing weekly cross-departmental coordination;
- expanding resident navigation and access to services;
- and implementing a crisis response strategy to support residents after violence, displacement, and other emergencies.
The office will also develop a resident-centered response and compliance model that includes hardship reviews and education-first strategies, improve data and accountability through shared engagement and neighborhood dashboards, and strengthen partnerships with neighborhood leaders, grassroots organizations, and community-based partners.
The office will also play a central role in advancing the City of Toledo’s Peace in Motion comprehensive public safety plan through strategic realignment and planning for operational and financial sustainability. Additionally, it will help clarify and coordinate the City’s investments, establish shared performance metrics, and strengthen the cradle-to-career pipeline that supports long-term stability, safety, and opportunity for Toledo’s youth and families.
