Brownfield Revitalization Program
This program is designed to empower our community in economic redevelopment to prevent, assess, safely clean up, and sustainably reuse brownfields. We have acquired over $14 million in various federal, state, local and private funding sources to redevelop land in Toledo for a range of purposes and specifications. Our team helps facilitate property transactions, completes environmental assessments and remediation and assists in the redevelopment of properties.
Community Reinvestment Area (CRA)
This program provides real property tax abatement for new construction or for the rehabilitation of residential, commercial or industrial structures within pre-designated areas. The City of Toledo’s CRA program works to promote investment to properties located within neighborhoods that have experienced decline as a result of disinvestment.
Facade Improvement Grant (FIG) Program
The Facade Improvement Grant (FIG) program helps property owners transform the facade of commercial, industrial, and mixed-use buildings by providing a 50% matching grant to reimburse expenses incurred during a comprehensive facade improvement.
White Box Grant Program
The White Box Grant program helps property owners bring vacant commercial first-floor spaces, located in low- to moderate-income census tracts, up to current code to create a functional "white box" space ready for customization and occupancy by a business.
Enterprise Development Loan Program
Enterprise Zone Tax Abatement Program
The Enterprise Zone Tax Abatement Program was designed to create jobs and promote economic growth in a specified geographical area of the City of Toledo. Further, it holds the purpose of establishing, expanding, renovating or occupying facilities and hiring new employees and preserving jobs within said zones in exchange for a tax credit.
Municipal Jobs Creation Tax Credit (MJCTC) Program
This program was designed to create jobs and increase Toledo’s tax base. It authorizes the City of Toledo, through the Mayor and City Council, to grant credits to businesses, by ordinance, against municipal income taxes (payroll taxes) on businesses net profits based upon new municipal income tax revenues generated from new jobs.
Toledo Expansion Incentive (TEI) Program
The purpose of this program is to provide incentives to attract and grow businesses in key Standard Industrial Classifications (SIC) Codes and site locations within the City of Toledo. This program may be used in conjunction with other financing and incentive programs available through the federal government, State of Ohio, Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority and/or any other City of Toledo Department of Development incentive programs provided for herein.
