Building Inspection Mission

The mission of the Division of Building Inspection is to serve the public interest to protect the health, safety and welfare of our citizens by assuring that all buildings, structures, and related equipment are constructed, installed, and maintained in compliance with the standards contained within the currently adopted Ohio Building Codes and Toledo Municipal Code, while contributing to economic development.

All the improvements to Building Inspection are to streamline and make our department efficient and more transparent. We are utilizing technology to accelerate all processes: applying for permits, managing licenses, plan review, and scheduling inspections. We will continue to improve our processes to meet the needs of our citizens, and assist in the growth of Toledo, Ohio.
