TMC 796 Employees working in the City of Toledo have the right to:
- receive written information about pay, tips, and pay schedules
- be paid all earned wages and tips accurately and on time
- receive clear pay statements showing wages, tips, and deductions
- report wage theft or violations without fear of retaliation
TMC 545 Wage theft includes, but is not limited to:
- not paying agreed upon wages immediately after services are completed
- not paying wages on an agreed upon pay day or within required pay intercals
- failing to appear at an agreed time and place to make payment
- paying less than the agreed upon amount for completed services
- paying with an insufficient or stopped check
- retaliating against an employee for asserting wage rights
- failing to respond within 15 days to a written demand for paid wages

- witholding funds on behalf of employee and failure to release them
- illegally witholds a portion of wages for reasons not allowed by federal, state, or local law
