New Partnership with J&M Cruise Lines

Tuesday, June 04, 2019

Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz today announced a new partnership with J&M Cruise Lines, which will maintain and manage the city-owned docks on the Maumee River at Promenade Park, and the docks in East Toledo.

“I want to thank J&M Cruise Lines, which owns the Sandpiper docked here behind us, for this partnership and for their passion to help us reach the true potential of our waterfront,” the mayor said during a morning news conference at Promenade Park. “In the past, especially during events like the ProMedica Concert Series and the July 4th fireworks, spots for boaters downtown, with access to Promenade Park, were first come, first docked. Now, people will be able to reserve a spot in advance through the J&M Cruise Lines website. Also, the docks downtown will be better maintained through this partnership than they have been in the past.”

Boaters can reserve a dock slip at https://jm-cruise-lines-ltd.square.site/ or by calling J&M Cruise Lines at 419-537-1212. Fifty percent of the revenue collected by J&M Cruise Lines will go into a city fund and be used to pay for future improvements to the docks and the waterfront.

The Kapszukiewicz administration has also convened a group of stakeholders to help improve and promote the waterfront.

“They are really enthusiastic and serious about making our waterfront the economic development engine it should be,” Mayor Kapszukiewicz said. “Groups like ConnecToledo, Destination Toledo, ProMedica, The Arts Commission, MetroParks Toledo, the National Museum of the Great Lakes, Brenner 75 Marina, Prater Development, Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel, and more have stepped up and joined this effort.”
