City, Community and Business Partners Celebrate Innovation Post Opening with Ribbon Cutting

The City of Toledo, alongside business and community leaders, celebrated the grand opening of The Innovation Post with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking a significant milestone in downtown’s economic resurgence.Originally built as a post office and sorting center in the early 1900s, this historic building has been transformed into a dynamic workplace designed to fuel collaboration and economic growth. With leading companies—including Wurtec Incorporated, WorkSpring, Junior Achievement of Northwestern Ohio, and SEGULA Technologies USA— now calling The Innovation Post home, the building is expected to have more than 170 employees, breathing new life into the downtown core.

"The Innovation Post reflects our commitment to Toledo’s economic growth," Mayor Kapszukiewicz said. "This transformation honors our city's rich history while positioning Toledo as a leader in innovation. With more entrepreneurs and businesses choosing to call Toledo home, we look forward to a future filled with promise and opportunity for our community and beyond."

Brandon Sehlhorst, Director of Economic Development, echoed the Mayor's sentiments, emphasizing the role of the project in Toledo’s economic development strategy. "The Innovation Post is more than just a building—it’s a catalyst for growth. By bringing together innovative companies and entrepreneurs under one roof, we are fostering collaboration, driving job creation, and reinforcing downtown Toledo as a hub for economic opportunity," Sehlhorst said.
