Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz Responds to Trump's Recent Praise of Toledo

In response to a comment about Toledo, OH made by President Trump at the APEC Summit in South Korea, Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz issued the following statement:

“I’m glad the President recognized the hard-working men and women of Toledo who have helped us win awards for our economic development efforts. The recent announcement that Stellantis will be producing a new midsized truck and adding 900 jobs at Jeep certainly builds upon our momentum. Still, the Trump administration’s decision to cancel a $45 million federal energy grant is one of the reasons over 600 workers at our Libbey Glass plant have been on strike for the last 10 weeks. If the President really wants to see all of our factories bustling, instead of shut down, he will restore the grant that Libbey worked hard to earn.”
