We strive to improve the quality of life in Toledo’s neighborhoods. Our work includes housing repair, creation, and preservation of affordable housing, fostering home-ownership, and code enforcement. This important work is undertaken with many nonprofit partners and neighborhood organizations.
The Toledo Department of Neighborhoods had a great third quarter of 2020. We successfully spearheaded the passage of the City of Toledo’s new lead ordinance and secured $5.7 million of lead remediation funding from HUD to continue our work to create a lead-safe Toledo! Kudos to the staff and our partners, the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department, and the Toledo Lead Poisoning Prevention Coalition. We are enhancing our housing preservation programs, creating new homeowners, and continuing our work to make Toledo neighborhoods great.
