A low-impact walking program for the entire community. Participate in weekly walks to earn incentives! Some events will also feature free health screenings and Farmers Market.

Presented by City of Toledo Parks and Youth Services in partnership with Promedica Health, Area Office on Aging, the Toledo Lucas County Library, and Metroparks Toledo.

About

Walking has numerous health benefits, including improved muscle strength, flexibility, increased metabolism, and endurance. Walking also helps prevent excess body fat, osteoporosis, depression, and even reduces back pain. It strengthens the immune system, energy level, manages weight.

We will gather every other week to walk the trails of Toledo with our guest speakers. Although this is a 10 week program, we challenge you to walk on the off weeks, you can pick your own trail or use the designated times and locations to meet other walkers!

While walking, follow the Toledo Lucas County Library's “Story Walks’," where we encourage everyone to go out walk and read the stories that are posted in various parks and and TLCPL locations. Youth are encouraged to draw a picture or summarize the story in a short paragraph and submit it to the Department of Parks and Youths Services for small prize.
