Mayor Kapszukiewicz and Members of TDOT Wave the Green Flag to Kick-Off 2026 Residential Road Repair Season

Tuesday, April 14, 2026

Mayor Kapszukiewicz launched Toledo’s 2026 residential road repair season by waving a green flag during a press conference on April 14, highlighting the City’s continued investment in safer, smoother streets for residents.

The kickoff project was on Prentice Road between Leonard and Nevada, where crews performed a full road reconstruction and replaced the water line, including hydrants, valves, and service connections.

The 2026 Residential Road Repair program includes a combined investment of more than $53 million across residential and major road work, made possible by voter support of the recent quarter percent levy dedicated solely to road repair.

Program highlights include:
• The Patch and Seal Program, targeting 7.57 lane miles
• The Residential Resurfacing Program, which will address 43.12 lane miles with a budget of $36 million
• Maintenance of Major Roads, covering 10.57 lane miles with a budget of $17.69 million

“The support from Toledo voters through the road levy allows us to take on more projects and improve more streets each year,” Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz said. “These investments make our roads safer and more reliable, and help strengthen neighborhoods across the City.”

Weather permitting, work is anticipated to be completed by October 2027.
