The City of Toledo maintains thousands of miles of sidewalks throughout the community, repairing and replacing panels each year to ensure safe, accessible paths for everyone.
The City manages construction and major repairs, residents are responsible for clearing and maintaining the sidewalk in front of their homes. This shared approach keeps Toledo’s sidewalks safe, accessible, and welcoming for everyone in the community.

Sidewalk Repair ProgramThe City of Toledo's Urban Beautification Division has selected opportunities around the city to test new sidewalk repair problems. This pilot is part of our broader effort to improve Toledo’s sidewalks while preserving the trees that make our neighborhoods beautiful, walkable, and shaded.
Sidewalk Rehabilitation Pilot Program 2025Safe Routes to School is an Ohio Department of Transportation funded program that supports municipalities, schools with resources, technical assistance and project funding to encourage and enable students in grades K-12 to walk or ride their bike to school.
Safe Routes to School ProgramThe City of Toledo's Snow Angels Program pairs older residents and residents with disabilities with nearby neighbors who volunteer to assist them with snow removal on their sidewalks and driveways.
