How to Use the Filling Station

Apply for Bulk Water Permit

Fill out an application for the bulk water permit on the portal from a phone/tablet/computer. Computers are available in the lobby of Water Distribution (401 S. Erie St.) if needed. You'll need to create an account if it's your first time using the portal.

Visit the Filling Station

Call 419-936-2517 to let them know you are here with your truck to be let in the gate and taken to the hydrant.

Pay Your Bill

Initial and final meter reads will be entered on the permit when you fill up. The final consumption fee can be paid on the portal using a credit card.

Hydrant Meter Rental

If you need water on a long-term basis, hydrant meters are available to rent from Water Distribution.

Water is billed at $0.04417 per cu. ft. A refundable deposit fee will be charged when the meter is issued based on the size of the meter.

How to Rent a Hydrant Meter

Fill out the hydrant meter rental application on the portal from a phone/tablet/computer. Computers are available in the lobby of Water Distribution (401 S. Erie St.) if needed. You'll need to create an account if it's your first time using the portal.

Confirm Meter Availability

Call 419-936-2517 to check for meter availability.

Pick Up the Meter

Pick up your meter from 401 S. Erie St. The refundable deposit* will need to be paid on the portal using a credit card when it's issued to you.

*Deposit fees reflect current replacement costs of the meter, backflow, hose, wrench and the case.

Return the Meter

All hydrant meters must be returned at the end of the permit year, no later than October 31 for annual testing required by EPA. If not returned, the deposit fee will become non-refundable.
