The City of Toledo, in partnership with The Ability Center, is launching a comprehensive assessment to better understand the current and future housing needs of people with disabilities in Toledo.
Accessible, community-based housing is essential for independence, yet many residents struggle to find options that fit their needs, budget, and lifestyle. This study will help us identify what accessible housing exists today, what features people need, and what barriers stand in the way.
Why it Matters
Many people with disabilities want to live independently but face obstacles – limited accessible units, affordability challenges, gaps in community supports, and difficulty navigating the housing search. By gathering data and listening to residents, this assessment will guide practical solitions and inform local partners working to expand accessible housing in Toledo.
