Free Senior Aquatic Exercise Program

The Free Senior Aquatic Exercise Program, co-sponsored by the city of Toledo and the YMCA of Greater Toledo, will begin at both pools next week - Navarre Pool, 1001 White St., on Tuesdays, and Willys Pools, 1375 Hillcrest Ave., on Wednesdays. The classes are 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The classes are free for adults 55 and up. Swimming ability is not required. The program is designed to improve agility, flexibility, range of motion, and cardiovascular endurance. All classes are taught by certified YMCA instructors.

Four city pools – Roosevelt, 910 Dorr St.; Navarre, 1001 White St.; Pickford, 3000 Medford Dr.; and Wilson, 3253 Otto St. – and the splash pad at Savage Park, 645 Vance St., opened, Saturday, June 8. Jamie Farr Pool, 2140 North Summit St., opened June 19. Willys Pool is scheduled to be open by early next week.
