2022 Clean Toledo Drop-Off Refuse and Recycling Events

Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz is happy to announce 24 refuse and recycling drop-off events throughout the city this year.


Acceptable items include electronic waste (including TV’s and CRT TV’s and monitors); up to 10 tires, on or off the rim, but no commercial tires; document shredding and recycling; houseware goods; clothing; toys; bulky items, cardboard, and refuse. No air conditioning units, refrigerators/freezers, or large appliances will be accepted.

This year latex paint is accepted free of charge.

Household hazardous waste, including oil-based paint and stains, will be accepted May 21, June 11, June 25, July 16, July 30, August 6, August 20, August 27, September 24. Lucas County Solid Waste Management District’s HHW program can also be utilized for disposing of hazardous waste.

Styrofoam and boat wrap will be accepted April 23, May 7 and May 21.

Used medical equipment will be accepted April 23, June 11, July 30, and August 6 through a partnership with the Ability Center.

Most drop-off events will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at designated locations. The events will have visibly marked lanes for traffic flow, as well as identifiable volunteers who will direct participants.

  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 30 at Riverside Elementary, 500 Chicago St.
  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., May 7 at Robinson Elementary, 1075 Horace St.
  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., May 7 at Detwiler Park, 4001 North Summit St.
  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., May 14 at Rogers High School, 222 McTigue Dr.
  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., May 21 at Point Place Plaza, 5109 Suder Ave.
  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 4 at Waite High School, 301 Morrison Dr.
  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 11 at Frederick Douglass Center, 1001 Indiana Ave.
  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 18 at Scott High School, 2400 Collingwood Blvd.
  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 25 at Start High School, 2010 Tremainsville Rd.
  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., July 9 at Keyser Elementary, 3900 Hill Ave.
