Extreme Cold Expected; Warming Centers Available

Saturday, January 18, 2025

Temperatures are expected to dip down into the single digits this weekend beginning on Sunday, January 19, and continuing through the morning of Wednesday, January 22. Warming shelters are available across Lucas County for residents in need of a safe and warm place to stay.

Residents seeking longer-term shelter or housing assistance should call 211 to be connected to resources.

TARTA will place a warming bus for customers at the Downtown Transit Hub from Monday, January 20, to Wednesday, January 22. The bus will be available after the Hub closes until TARTA service ends for the day, providing shelter for those waiting for transportation.

A map of all warming shelters is available at toledo.oh.gov/shelter. Please note that libraries and senior centers will be closed on Monday, January 20, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Warming locations are listed below by their availability.
