More Snowfall Expected Tonight

Monday, December 01, 2025

The City of Toledo is preparing for additional snowfall expected to begin around 7 p.m. tonight and continue through 7 a.m. Tuesday, with forecasters predicting approximately 2.5 inches of additional accumulation. Crews have been working since Saturday to clear snow from this weekend’s storm and will continue around-the-clock operations as new snowfall moves in.

Operations are divided into the following categories:

  1. Primary Routes: Main roads, bridges, and emergency service corridors. These receive top priority for plowing and salting.
  2. Secondary Routes: Collector streets and transit corridors connecting neighborhoods to main roads.
  3. Residential Streets: Plowing begins once primary and secondary routes are cleared if snow accumulation reaches 3-5”.

Crews are currently working on priority routes to ensure safe travel for first responders, transit users, and residents driving on the city’s busiest roads. As of this afternoon, primary and secondary routes are clear.

As snowfall begins this evening, operations will return to primary routes and bridges until main corridors are again passable. Snow and ice control crews will remain on shift through at least Tuesday afternoon, when weather conditions will be reassessed.

During snow and ice operations, leaf collection is temporarily paused so crews and equipment can be reassigned for winter weather response. Second-pass collection in 43613, 43623, 43606, 43615, and 43614 will resume once streets are cleared and weather permits.

Resident Safety Reminders
Residents are encouraged to take precautions as snow begins to accumulate:

  • Avoid parking on Snow Emergency Routes during active plowing.
  • Give plows and salt trucks plenty of space.
  • Drive slowly and allow for extra travel time.
  • Please clear sidewalks adjacent to your home as soon as conditions allow.
  • Report hazardous road conditions by contacting Engage Toledo at 419-936-2020.
