Toledo Water and Sewer Outreach Events Help Customers Catch Up on Past-Due Bills
The City of Toledo is hosting a series of community outreach events to connect residential water and sewer customers with relief options for past-due balances, including the city's new Fresh Start program.
Customers can meet one-on-one with customer service representatives at any of the following events to review their account and find out what assistance they qualify for:
- Tonight, August 12, 2–6 p.m. — East Toledo Family Center, 1020 Varland Ave.
- Tuesday, August 18, 3–7 p.m. — Fellowship Hall at Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 640 Indiana Ave.
- Wednesday, September 2, 3–7 p.m. — The Event Center at the Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center, 1225 Broadway St.
About Fresh Start
Fresh Start is a limited-time program for residential customers with a past-due balance as of June 1, 2026. Applications are open through Sept. 30, 2026.
Under the program:
- Customers pay what they can — up to 50% of their past-due balance — and the city will erase a matching amount from the balance.
- Any remaining balance can be placed on an interest-free payment plan.
Customers who don't qualify for Fresh Start may still be eligible for other relief programs. Outreach event staff can help identify the best option for each household.
