Leaders to Raise Awareness about the 2020 Census through the “Spreading the Word” Caravan

Toledo, OH – Local and national leaders will join together at 1 p.m., Monday, August 24 to “Spread the Word” about the impact, on all communities in Toledo and Lucas County, of the 2020 Census on our schools, roads, and health care.

The caravan will consist of leaders, community members, and U.S. Census staff riding in vehicles touring the census tracts that have had a lower-than-anticipated self-response rate to the 2020 Census. Participants will distribute donated gift bags and encourage residents of households that have not yet completed the census to do so. A U.S. Census Mobile Questionnaire Assistance team will be on-hand to assist individuals in completing the census during the event.

The “Spreading the Word” Census Caravan will begin with a short program in the parking lot of the Mott Branch Library at 1010 Dorr St. at 1 p.m. and will travel through several neighborhoods with low Census self-response rates. A route and flier is attached to this media alert.
