Grant Funding

  1. $9.86 million from Ohio Department of Development for the demolition of 1,000 blighted properties by the end of 2025
  2. Forestry played a critical role in RE-TREE Toledo Grant

Grants help to fund new or expand funding on existing projects. This funding allows Toledo to be more ambitious moving toward our goals. Any money that Toledo gains through grant funding is a direct win for Toledo residents.

Project Highlights

The Department of Public Service and Urban Beautification team work year-round to keep Toledo looking and feeling its best. These teams work alongside the Department of Building and Code Compliance to address blight throughout the city.

Clean Toledo Recycling Events

  • 25,438 tires collected & recycled
  • 22,859 gallons of paint recycled
  • 57.63 tons of scrap metal recycled
  • 72.15 tons of electronic waste recycled
  • 758.2 tons of general debris disposed
  • 63.97 tons of household hazardous waste recycled
  • 25,600 cubic feet of Styrofoam recycled
  • 68,996 lbs. of secured documents shredded & recycled
  • 774 yards of green waste recycled & diverted from our landfill

Streetscape Team

  • 140 planters planted and maintained
  • 650+ strings of holiday lights
  • New planter project installed in East Toledo business corridor

Forestry Team

  • 1,032 trees trimmed
  • 1,157 trees removed
  • 1,121 trees planted
