Cerssandra McPherson
Council Member At-Large
Councilwoman Cerssandra McPherson was appointed to Toledo City Council as an At-Large Member, by Judge Jack Puffenberger in September 2020. She was elected to a full term in November of 2021.
Born August 24, 1959, to the parents of the Mozell & the late Elzie Hill, her immediate family consists of 2 brothers, 1 sister, 3 adult children, eight grandchildren & four great-grandchildren.
She attended Toledo Public Schools and graduated from Libbey High School class of 1977 with her daughter Danyale. She has continued her education taking classes at the University of Toledo Majoring in Special Education with a Minor in Social Work.
She is a member of Braden United Methodist Church. During her years at Braden she has served as Trustee Chair, Choir President, Pastoral Care Committee, Youth Director, Children’s Choir Director, Usher, Administrative Council, Braden’s Daycare Reconstruction team and a Certified Lay Speaker for United Methodist Church. She also serves on the West Ohio Conference Board of Ordained Ministries.
Cerssandra was a member of the Toledo Federation of Teachers, where she served as the Paraprofessional Grievance Representative, served on the Board of Directors and the TFT Community Outreach Committee. She also served on the Ohio Federation of Teachers Standing Committee for Paraprofessionals & Staff Related Personnel. Cerssandra also worked as one of the Paraprofessional Train the Trainers for the American Federation of Teachers.
She also serves on the Executive Board of the Toledo Interfaith Mass Choir where she has been a member for 25+ years under the direction of the late Rev. Dr. Derrick E. Roberts. She is also a member of the Thomas Dorsey National Convention of Gospel Choirs & Choruses Inc.

Councilwoman McPherson is Chair of the Intergovernmental & Administrative Services Committee and Vice Chair of the Parks, Education, Recreation & Health Committee. She is also a member of the Housing & Community Development Committee, the Public Safety & Criminal Justice Reform Committee, the Water Quality Committee, and the Zoning & Planning Committee.
