Construction Begins Spring 2026

The City has contracted with Kokosing to complete the water tower construction. Crews will begin construction in spring 2026.

The City of Toledo plans to construct a new water tower at Schneider Soccer Complex beginning in 2026. This project is part of a broader effort to improve water pressure, increasy system reliability, and transition the city's water distribution into two pressure zones.

Location

The water tower will be located near the Detroit Ave. entrance to Schneider Soccer Complex, positioned between the soccer fields and the Kroger entrance.

This location was selected because:

  • it is near a 30 in. watermain
  • coordination with existing park infrastructure and planning

This location also creates an opportunity for the towers to serve as a recognizable landmark within a well-used community space.

Tower Design

The project includes one elevated water storage tank.

  • Capacity: 2 million gallons
  • Height: approximately 160 feet
  • Diameter: approximately 56 feet

Construction and Park Access

Construction is expected to take place between 2026 and 2028.

Important things to know:

  • park will remain open whenever possible
  • there will be periods of construction noise

Construction hours are typically 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The City and contractors will work to minimize ipacts to the surrounding area as much as possible.
