Why is the City building new water towers?
To improve water pressure, increase storage capacity, and strengrhen the overall reliability of the water system. These improvements are part of a long-term effort to modernize infrastructure and transition to a two-zone system for more consistent service across the city.
What does a water tower do?
Water towers store treated driking water and use gravity to maintain consisten pressure throughout the system. This helps ensure water constinues flowing during peak demand, power outages, or more maintenance activities.
How do water towers support the two-zone system?
They help manage pressure in each zone by storing and distributing water where it is needed. This allows the system to operate more efficiently and maintain more consistent pressure across different areas of the city.
Why are water towers built in specific locations?
Water towers are placed based on system needs, including proximity to major water mains, elevation, and pressure demands. Each location is selevted to privide the greates benefits to overall system performance.
Will water service be interrupted during construction?
We do not expect any major disruptions to service.
Do water towers affect property values?
No. Water towers a re a standard part of municipal infrastructure and do not negatively impact property values. They are designed as functional assets that support reliable water service.
Will the water tower have lighting?
Any required lighting will be minimal and meant for safety and maintenance only.
