The mission of the Department of Human Resources is to support its sister Departments in all aspects of the employer-employee relationship. The Department of Human Resources is responsible for employee selection and evaluation, benefits administration, union & employee relations, workers' compensation, training and temporary workers. The Department of Human Resources facilitates the delivery of City services by selecting, developing and retaining the City's most valuable resource: a productive and competent workforce.
