Eligibility
To be eligible for certification, businesses must meet at least one of the following Veteran Employment Standards listed below.
Veteran Employment Standards
- At least 51% of the business is owned by veterans or persons on active service.
 - At least 10% of the employees of the business are veterans or on active service.
 - At least 51% of the board of directors are veterans or people on active service.
 - Certified by the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business or a Veteran-Owned Small Business.
 - The business is certified by the State of Ohio as a Veteran Friendly Business Enterprise.
 
Verifying Veteran Status
For each required personnel as outlined above, please submit a copy of one of the items below as documentation that prove a service member is active or a veteran who has been honorably discharged or discharged under honorable circumstances.
- United States Department of Defense form 214 (DD-214).
 - United States Department of Defense form 215 (DD-215).
 - United States Uniformed identification card (DD Form 2).
 - United States Department of Veterans Affairs identification card.
 - United States Department of Defense military identification.
 - Ohio driver’s license with armed forces logo;
 - National Guard Bureau Form 22 (NGB-22).
 - Any other official documentation verifying status
