Lead Ordinance News Conference

Monday, May 21, 2018

The date of compliance for the lead ordinance is fast approaching. The City of Toledo, The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department, and ABLE (Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc.) are aiming to stress the importance of compliance with the ordinance.

The issues to be discussed will be the mailing of a reminder postcard to rental property owners in the phase 1 areas of Toledo, the amount of time for compliance and the number of properties that need to be inspected daily to reach the goal of full compliance, the enforcement of daily $50 fines with a maximum of $10,000, and the support for tenants and families living in rental properties not in compliance with the ordinance.
