Parks and Pools Volunteers Joined by Mayor Kapszukiewicz, Program Extended

Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz, Council Member Dr. Tiffany Whitman, Police Deputy Chief Susan Surgo, Manager of the Mayor’s Initiative To Reduce Gun Violence JoJuan Armour, Toledo Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Commissioner Karen Ranney Wolkins, and representatives from community organizations who have volunteered at city pools during the month of July will hold a news conference at 3:45 p.m., Thursday, July 29 at Roosevelt Pool.

Volunteer groups decided to serve after gun-related issues at the pools earlier this summer. The mayor will thank the volunteers and announce an extension of the program.

Volunteer groups include local motorcycle clubs, corvette clubs, African American Greek organizations, and others.
