Mayor Kapszukiewicz Announces Michael Troendle New Police Chief for the Toledo Police Department
Mayor Kapszukiewicz is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael C. Troendle as the new Police Chief of the Toledo Police Department. Troendle has been serving as the Interim Police Chief since the retirement of Chief George Kral on January 9. Troendle is a forward-thinking law enforcement and technology professional with executive and hands-on experience in implementing multi-million-dollar projects, designing and implementing organizational change, and solving complex problems.
Chief Troendle's experience in the Toledo Police Department dates back to 1993, where he has served in various positions, including Assistant Chief of the Operations/Support & Administrative Division, Deputy Chief of the Operations Division, and Captain of the Special Operations Bureau Commander.
Throughout his career, Chief Michael Troendle has made significant contributions to the department. He was responsible for the implementation of Intelligence-Led Policing and designed and managed the construction of the Real-Time Crime Center.
Chief Troendle holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Crime Analysis and Justice Administration from Tiffin University. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and has completed several specialized training programs in leadership and law enforcement.
The City of Toledo is confident that Troendle will lead the Toledo Police Department with integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to serving and protecting the community. His strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with his reputation for being highly trustworthy and ethical make him an excellent fit for the position.
