We're excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for your kids to thrive after school. Thanks to the Parks and Youth Services Department, we're bringing an array of enriching after school programs right to your neighborhood. From arts and sports to tech and tutoring, there's something for every young explorer.
Programs for all ages
Books N Basketball Legacy Program
Our After School reading program helps students improve reading levels, complete homework, build social skills, and learn etiquette. It includes three field trips over six months and monthly guest speakers to inspire students. ages 7–17

Early Bird Basketball
Players will have fun while learning the rules, strategies and fundamentals of the game; but we also focus on important life skills such as responsibility, teamwork, communication, and leadership. Many of the volunteers are prominent people in the community. At the end of each session, time is set aside to give the volunteers opportunity to mentor to the participants.

Financial Literacy Program
Our Financial Literacy and Empowerment program teaches youth ages 14–25 the basics of budgeting, saving, and investing through hands-on activities and interactive demos, empowering them to build wealth and achieve financial independence. ages 14–25.
Girls on the Run of Northwest Ohio
Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a character-building after school program for girls in 3rd - 8th grades. GOTR lessons help build a solid foundation of self-confidence and deliberate decision making before they are faced with tough life choices as they approach the teenage years. Ages 7–13
Girls to Ladies
G2L is a curriculum-based program focused on education, mindfulness, safety, healthy development, and empowerment of adolescent girls. Young ladies will become familiar with positive team building, healthy communication, internet safety and social media, friendships, bullying, coping mechanisms, stress and pressure, self-awareness, body image and the media, goal setting, and career development. Ages 12–19

The Nailed It! - Camp for ALL Woodworking and Crafting Workshops are monthly, hands-on sessions
designed to provide neurodiverse youth, particularly those receiving services through the Autism Society of Northwest Ohio, with a unique opportunity to explore woodworking and crafting in a supportive, engaging environment. Each workshop lasts two hours and features a seasonal project. All Classes are 2 to 4 p.m.

Opera On Wheels
Toledo Opera's flagship youth education program brings live opera performances to schools, libraries, and community spaces—especially in underserved and rural areas where arts education is limited. Designed to make opera accessible, the program features a 40-minute English-language production performed by Toledo Opera’s Resident Artists, blending engaging storytelling with interactive elements.

Valley View Success Camp
Ignite your child's entrepreneurial spirit with an empowering experience at Business Success Camp! Your child will embark on engaging field trips, meeting local business owners who will inspire and mentor them.
