Brandon Sehlhorst, senior manager, site selection, for the Regional Growth Partnership, will be the commissioner of economic development for the city of Toledo effective July 8, Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz announced today.

“Brandon is extremely talented and has a wealth of experience helping businesses thrive in Toledo,” Mayor Kapszukiewicz said. “We are excited to welcome him to the helm of a team that is working everyday to help create jobs and stability for our city and our future.”

Mr. Sehlhorst was previously manager of real estate for the city before taking a position with the Regional Growth Partnership, which has worked closely with the Kapszukiewicz administration on several economic development projects.

“I would like to thank the mayor for this opportunity to lead economic development at the city,” Mr. Sehlhorst said. “I am a Toledo native who moved back to the city nearly three years ago after working in economic development in Cincinnati for several years. I decided to move back to Toledo to pursue my dream of doing economic development in my hometown. I will bring a strong passion, a refreshed energy, and creative ideas to this position. I look forward to working with the city’s economic development team, our partners, and new and existing businesses on continuing the momentum of this great city.”
