2025 Roads Program Announced

Tuesday, January 21, 2025

The City of Toledo announced today the 2025 Residential Roads Program, which will deliver significant improvements to Toledo’s roadways with a focus on making roads not only smoother but also safer for all users. The program includes investments in safety enhancements alongside construction to ensure better experiences for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists alike. Planned major road construction projects for 2025, 2026, and 2027 were also announced.

“Our 2025 Roads Program represents our commitment to improving Toledo’s infrastructure for today and the future,” said Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz. “By combining smoother roads with vital safety upgrades, we’re ensuring a better experience for all street users. It wasn't that long ago that we were fixing 7 roads per year, but thanks to the quarter percent for roads, we're able to yet again fix 15 times that amount of residential streets.”

Key Highlights of the 2025 Roads Program

  • Residential Roads: 42.64 lane miles of reconstruction and resurfacing with a $25 million budget.
  • Major Roads: 16.41 lane miles of improvements with a $21.5 million budget.
  • Patch and Seal: 30.03 lane miles of roadways to receive targeted repairs to extend pavement life.

In order to ensure residents and businesses are prepared for what to expect during construction projects, the City is introducing several new resources to improve communication and preparedness.
