Issue 1 News Conference, 2022 roads list released

Tuesday, March 10, 2020

Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz today announced what roads would be repaved or reconstructed in 2022 with passage of Issue 1.

“Government works best when working with the people,” the mayor said during a news conference on Devon Hill Road, which was added to the 2022 street list after residents emailed the suggestion to the city email for roads suggestions, roads@toledo.oh.gov.

The full list of streets that will be repaved or reconstructed through 2022 with Issue 1 funding can be found at https://toledo.oh.gov/residents/neighborhoods/transportation-traffic/road-construction. The residential streets identified for 2022 total about 70 miles.

Issue 1 is a 10-year plan and there will be seven more years of resurfacing and reconstruction after 2022 funded with the new levy, the mayor said.

“If you do not see your road on this list, please remember there are seven more years,” Mayor Kapszukiewicz said. “Look at it, give us feedback, and send us an email to let us know what additional roads should be on the list. Residents have been giving us feedback, and that is why we are on Devon Hill today. It needs to be fully reconstructed, and it will be reconstructed when Issue 1 passes.”

The mayor was joined by members of a neighborhood association who suggested Devon Hill Road be added to the list of roads for 2022.
