Virtual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Event News Conference

Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz and University of Toledo Interim President Dr. Gregory Postel will hold a virtual news conference at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 14 to discuss details of this year’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day event.

The City of Toledo's Human Relations Commission and the University of Toledo will co-host the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration beginning at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 18. The event will be held virtually. The public may watch at this link or on Facebook Live,facebook.com/cityoftoledo. The event will feature keynote speaker Austin Channing Brown.

Members of the media may use this link https://toledo-oh-gov.zoom.us/j/86130080234 to participate in the news conference.

The news conference will be streamed live on the City of Toledo Facebook page.

Members of the media are asked to input their names and companies upon entering the Zoom webinar. You will remain muted until the question and answer period. At that time, media members will be asked to use the “raise hand” feature to alert the Zoom host that he or she would like to ask a question. The Zoom host will call upon media organizations one at a time in the order that each has asked to be recognized. The journalist will be unmuted to ask questions. A moderator will announce the name of the journalist and the media organization.
