Mayor Kapszukiewicz Invited to Attend White House Roundtable on Public Safety Friday

Thursday, May 12, 2022

Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz has been invited to attend a roundtable discussion at the White House tomorrow to discuss how Toledo is using funds from the American Rescue Plan to promote public safety.

The meeting will be held in the West Wing of the White House complex and will include President Joe Biden and Susan Rice, director of the Domestic Policy Council.

The invitation from the White House came yesterday as the mayor was preparing to deliver his State of the City address at the Glass City Metropark. Mayor Kapszukiewicz will fly to Washington DC tomorrow morning and return to Toledo in the evening.

The meeting at the White House will prevent Mayor Kapszukiewicz from attending a fundraising luncheon he is hosting for the United Negro College Fund. The luncheon, which begins at 11:30 am tomorrow at the University of Toledo, has already raised over $80,000 and will include over 300 attendees. In his absence, the mayor will send a video recorded message.
