​Mayor Kapszukiewicz Announced Enrollment Period for Fall 2022 Engage Toledo Ambassador Academy

Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz announced the details and open application period for the next Engage Toledo Ambassador Academy. The program launched in 2017 and has graduated over one hundred Toledo resident ambassadors and thirty-two high school Junior Ambassadors over the course of the past five years.

Classes begin on Thursday, September 1, 2022, and will be held every Thursday from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm for twelve consecutive weeks. Participants who attend the majority of classes graduate and are designated Ambassadors on November 17, 2022.

During the program participants will travel to various city-owned facilities in all six council districts and will learn from city leaders and elected officials about resident-facing programs and city services that affect residents, businesses, and neighborhoods.

The curriculum includes topics such as how to report concerns through the Engage Toledo call center, information about public safety with members from Save our Community, an evening with Toledo Police and Toledo Fire & Rescue, an evening with the Toledo Mayor and City Council members, water and sewer initiatives with the Department of Public Utilities, information about the 2022 Leaf Collection program, and blight initiatives with the Division of Urban Beautification.

At the completion, participants graduate in a formal ceremony in City Council chambers and are designated as Engage Toledo Ambassadors.

Applications close at 11:59 pm on August 23, 2022. Participants will be notified by August 25, 2022, and classes begin on September 1, 2022.
