As you read, you'll notice that these violations are meant to maintain a certain degree of habitability and safety. We want to help residents keep their properties in good shape.
Exterior Property Maintenance
- loose, peeling, or missing paint
- damaged masonry
- detached or clogged gutters
- leaking or otherwise deteriorating rooftops
- rotten or compromised siding, trim, windows , and doors
- accumulated junk, trash, or debris
- trees (dead wood or obstructing visibility in the public right of way)
- trash bins not pulled back from the road within 24 hrs. of pick-up
- inoperable or unlicensed vehicles
- vehicles parked in the yard
- blocked public walkways (needs 7 feet of clearance)
- untreated wooden surfaces
Stairs, Porches, and Balconies
- missing handrail with more than 3 steps
- uneven steps
- rotting wood
- no guardrails if over 24"
- loose or flimsy guardrails
General Interior Maintenance
- holes, water damage, or peeling paint
- damaged floors
- broken or cracked windows
- broken or damaged heating system (must be able to maintain 65 degrees at all times)
- unclean or cluttered common areas
Windows
- missing or inoperable locks
- broken or cracked
Other
- smoke alarms
- plumbing
- inadequate cold and hot (at least 120 degrees) water
- improperly installed
- clogged or leaking
- toiled inoperable or inadequately secured to floor
- electrical
- outlets in kitchen, bathroom, garage, unfinished basements, outdoor, or within 6 ft. of water not GFCI
- missing cover plates
- missing outlet in bathroom
- extension cords used as permanent wiring
