If you have received a notice of code violations on your property, and you do not believe those code violations are present, you may submit an appeal to the Department of Building and Code Compliance.
When you file an appeal, the Nuisance Abatement Appeals Board with Toledo Housing Court will review the circumstances of your case and determine whether or not the violation is present on your property.
Please note: Filing an appeal does not automatically grant you more time to fix the problem.

Nuisance Abatement Assessment on Property Taxes
If the property owner does not remedy the code violation in the specified time frame, then the City will often step in and do the work at the owner's expense. This is common for things like tall grass, abandoned vehicles, or demolition. The associated charge is applied to the property owner's tax bill as a NUAB charge.
If you have one of these charges on your tax bill and you believe it is an error, you can appeal that charge.
