The Sidewalk Rescue Grant will assist low-income residential property owners to pay for sidewalk/drive approach repairs within the right-of-way.

Only existing non-compliant or damaged sidewalk, drive approach, or drive approach curb within the right of way will be covered by the grant.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Eligible properties are residential single-family owner-occupied properties located within the City of Toledo corporation limits.
  2. Property taxes must be current at the time of the grant application or the owner must be on a verifiable payment plan with the Lucas County Auditor's Office.
  3. Property owners must not be delinquent on taxes or other money owed to the City of Toledo.
  4. Total household income must fall below the maximum household income (80% of HUD area median income). You will need the following documents to verify income:
    1. Proof of earned income (most recent 2 months) for each household member 18+
    2. Entitlement income (i.e., TANF, SSI, SSD)
    3. Pension, child support, alimony, etc.
    4. 2021 tax returns
    5. If applicable, zero income form
    6. Bank statements (most recent 2 months)
