Mayors Cranley and Kapszukiewicz Make Friendly Wager On ECHL Series

Thursday, April 25, 2019

Mayors Wade Kapszukiewicz and John Cranley have agreed on the stakes of a friendly wager as teams from their respective cities prepare to begin the second round of the ECHL Kelly Cup playoffs tonight in Cincinnati.

Should the Cincinnati Cyclones win the best-of-7 series, Toledo Mayor Kapszukiewicz will send Cincinnati Mayor Cranley a care package from Tony Packo’s. Should the Toledo Walleye prevail, Mayor Cranley will send Mayor Kapszukiewicz coney dogs from Gold Star Chili.

“There is no question the Toledo Walleye will win this series,” Mayor Kapszukiewicz said. “So, I’m going to need to figure out how many calories are in the Gold Star Coney Crate so I can continue to be successful on Toledo’s wellness and weight loss challenge even after I win this bet.”

Games 2, 3 and 4 of the Central Division Final series will be held at the Huntington Center in downtown Toledo on April 27th, May 1st, and May 3rd.
