New Cricket Pitch Dedication – Rescheduled Date

Wednesday, November 06, 2019

Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz invites the media and the public to Winterfield Park, 4511 Hill Ave., to celebrate the opening of the city’s new cricket pitch during a ribbon cutting ceremony at 3 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8.

Toledoan Dr. Shaukat Rashid – who, along with the Greater Toledo Cricket Club, donated half of the cost for the project – will be present to help dedicate the new cricket pitch. Dr. Rashid said about six cricket leagues play in and around Toledo, including the University of Toledo’s club, and teams from Michigan and Indiana that come to Toledo to compete. There has been only one place to play cricket in Toledo’s park system before installation of the new cricket pitch. A pitch was installed by the city at Toledo’s Beatty Park in the 1990s.
