One Government Center is closed today, June 25, again due to a power loss that began Friday, June 21.

Thursday, June 25, 2020

City finance, building inspection, and fire inspection employees, who are normally housed in One Government Center, will work today from the Ohio Building, 420 Madison Ave. All city employees working in other buildings, including police, fire, transportation, streets, parks, and public utilities, will report again today for regular work shifts and continue normal operations.

County and city officials have arranged for two generators to be delivered to One Government Center to supplement generators that have been in place to power critical systems since Friday. The two additional generators should completely power the building.

Two generators are powering the Toledo Municipal Court building. The court will have limited operations today, including arraignment court and probation. Individuals scheduled for probation, or courtrooms three or four, should check the Clerk of Courts website, tmc-clerk.com, for new court dates.

The Toledo Police Safety Building is also operating on generator power today and open to accept reports.

Power was lost to five downtown buildings Friday when a construction company working near Adams and Superior streets struck an underground duct bank.

911 is working for emergency calls. The city’s Engage Toledo telephone service, 419-936-2020, is functioning. All Lucas County government telephone lines are functioning.

Toledo City Council canceled its regularly scheduled meeting set for 4 p.m. today at One Government Center. Council plans to meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
